In their first collaboration since the Newbery Medal- and Caldecott Honor-winning Last Stop on Market Street , Matt de la Peña and Christian Robinson deliver a poignant and timely new picture book that's sure to be an instant classic.

When Carmela wakes up on her birthday, her wish has already come true--she's finally old enough to join her big brother as he does the family errands. Together, they travel through their neighborhood, past the crowded bus stop, the fenced-off repair shop, and the panadería, until they arrive at the Laundromat, where Carmela finds a lone dandelion growing in the pavement. But before she can blow its white fluff away, her brother tells her she has to make a wish. If only she can think of just the right wish to make . . .

With lyrical, stirring text and stunning, evocative artwork, Matt de la Peña and Christian Robinson have crafted a moving ode to family, to dreamers, and to finding hope in the most unexpected places.

She went to the town to find her brother. Her brother does not want to do things with her , but when Carmela had an accident with scooter brother decided to take care of her and make her day better and make her wish come true. This story has colorful pictures and I recommend this book.

That book was good at the begging of the story, but at the middle of the story the brother was so mean to his sister when the sister birthday, then the brother and his sister was fighting together.

This book is about Carmela who has a birthday with full of wishes. And her wish is to go to town with his brother.

This book is about a girl named Carmela and her birthday could not get any better. For her birthday she got a scooter and she was finally old enough to go to town with her brother. But she did not expect her brother to act the way he was acting he was working and ignoring her. In my opinion I think that this book shows that if somebody is giving negative to you then you should not be negative to them. This inspired me to be more kind to everyone. In this book I think they show kindness and compassion. If you like books that start out positive then negative and positive again then this book is for you.

I rate this book 5 stars because I loved it. It's about a girl who had her birthday and she got jingle bracelets. But she was most excited to go out in town with her older brother with her scooter. Because she was finally old enough to but it goes wrong. I think the theme of this book is kindness because at the end she was kind to older brother after her older brother was kind to her. If you like picture book about kindness you should read this book!

This is a cool book that's about a girl & its her birthday. She wishes to go to the city with her brother to see him to work. She keeps jiggleing her bracelets to annoy her brother. She falls and her brother helps her get up & bring her to a beach & she tacks off her bracelets to not annoy her brother anymore. If you like this book you will like The Dot.
