They called her Water Claire. When she washed up on their shore, no one knew that she came from a society where emotions and colors didn’t exist. That she had become a Vessel at age thirteen. That she had carried a Product at age fourteen. That it had been stolen from her body. Claire had a son. But what became of him she never knew. What was his name? Was he even alive? She was supposed to forget him, but that was impossible. Now Claire will stop at nothing to find her child, even if it means making an unimaginable sacrifice. Son thrusts readers once again into the chilling world of the Newbery Medal winning book, The Giver, as well as Gathering Blue and Messenger where a new hero emerges. In this thrilling series finale, the startling and long-awaited conclusion to Lois Lowry’s epic tale culminates in a final clash between good and evil.

So I kinda read this book in the worst order being that it was the last book in the series and the first one I read out of the whole series, but the book was still really good. Even though I read in the wrong order, the book was so descriptive, I was able to understand it really well. This book was wonderful and so well written. Lois Lowry is a talented and good writer.

Son is the next story of the Giver. I would totally read the Giver before you read this one. This story explains on how a mother is willing to do everything for her son, Gabe. If you ever wondered what happened to Jonas and Gabe then I would totally read this book. Lois Lowry is an AWESOME author.

this was an awesome book. I would recommend this to anyone who has ever read the Giver. SHIP this GUYS!

Son starts out a little disgusting, but the plot unfolds and thickens throughout the book. I love how claire will do anything to get her son back, even give up one of her best qualities!

Lois Lowry is the Author of The giver one of the books I really want to read. Before I read this one I need to read The Giver.I hope I don't see the movie before I read the book.

I want to read Son by Lois Lowry because I have read the first book in the quartet, The Giver. That was one of the best books I have ever read. I need to read the other books before this one, but this story just seems so interesting. I really want to know the meaning of the title, Son. In The Giver, Louis Lowry tells the meaning of the title, I believe, through a character. I also believe that that is what he is going to do in this book also. I am extremely curious what character this title is pertaining to. All I know is that it includes a boy.

I thought this book was VERY GOOD. I read The Giver but not Gathering Blue or Messenger, I don't think you have to read them in order, as long as you read the first one first! I really liked how this book was written in 3 parts, Before, During, and After. READ THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!

This is a combination of the giver, also written by Lois Lowry. Claire gives birth to a child at the age of fourteen. Jonas is a boy also in this book.

this is part of the Giver 4 book series with Son being the last book. I recommend you read the first 3 before starting this one, especially since Giver is going to made into a movie, and the other books are really good too. In the Son, Claire is looking for her son.

This book was absolutely amazing. Don't think you have to read all three other books to understand this one. It would help a little bit but you would be more attached to the characters if you had previously read the ones before this. I would recommend this book to anyone of all ages!
