This special edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has a gorgeous new cover illustration by Kazu Kibuishi. Inside is the full text of the original novel, with decorations by Mary GrandPré.

Harry Potter has never been the star of a Quidditch team, scoring points while riding a broom far above the ground. He knows no spells, has never helped to hatch a dragon, and has never worn a cloak of invisibility.

All he knows is a miserable life with the Dursleys, his horrible aunt and uncle, and their abominable son, Dudley — a great big swollen spoiled bully. Harry’s room is a tiny closet at the foot of the stairs, and he hasn’t had a birthday party in eleven years.

But all that is about to change when a mysterious letter arrives by owl messenger: a letter with an invitation to an incredible place that Harry — and anyone who reads about him — will find unforgettable.

For it’s there that he finds not only friends, aerial sports, and magic in everything from classes to meals, but a great destiny that’s been waiting for him… if Harry can survive the encounter.

this book was so great it changed my life

I liked this story a lot and decided to read the other books in the series too. I like the adventure in these stories and I like the magic. I'm even going to be Harry Potter for Halloween!

Harry is only an infant when Lord Voldermort kills his parents, and mysteriously disappears.Harry is left an orphan.3 professors (Professor Dumbledore,Professer Mcgonagall, and Ruebes Hagrid) place him into the care of his aunt and uncle with there very mean son Dudley.About 10 years later.Harry is treated very badly in with the Dursleys.Hes treated more like a servant/slave with the family. Harry receives letters, but Vernon destroys them without Harry being able to read them first. Near to his 11th Birthday Harry Hagrid arrives with a letter telling him he is a wizard, and has been accepted into Hogwarts. After this is when all the adventurers start...I would tell you,but you'd have to read the book to find out what happens.

This is an incredible book series everyone should read, not just the recommended age level. Throughout J.K. Rowling's seven books, she winds a plot so thoroughly twisted together, it just makes you want to read further. #bestbookever

I love this book. U should read it. It is exiting, scary, and very funny. Even thought it is a bit long, it is a great book!

cool book, this is a book I really enjoyed reading

This book is about a young wizard named Harry Potter. When he was only 1 he defeated a evil wizard. This book i believe will appeal to all people. it does have words that you might need to be on a 3rd grade level to read but theres not a lot of those. So read this book to find out more.

This book has always been my favourite. It is my childhood and I've read it more times than I remember. I highly, highly recommend this book.
