In this riveting debut, a telepathic girl must figure out why she is the key to her brand-new world—before the wrong person finds the answer first.

Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. And Sophie has a secret—she’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well…she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth, and almost instantly she is forced to leave behind her family for a new life in a place that is vastly different from what she has ever known.
But Sophie still has secrets, and they’re buried deep in her memory for good reason: The answers are dangerous and in high-demand. What is her true identity, and why was she hidden among humans? The truth could mean life or death—and time is running out.

This book was great! So 12 year old Sophie has a secret power. She is a telepath and has been one since the mysterious day when she hit her head when she was five years old. She has never met anyone who understands her but that all changes the day she meets Fitz who tells and shows her who she really is and after that day her life completely changes as she moves into a very different world. But even there she is different and special in many ways but in one way in particular she has secrets buried deep in her brain that some people would do anything to learn. Maybe even kill. Join Sophie and her friends on many adventures where they must rely on each other and stay strong. I recommend this book for ages 8 and up.

This is my absolute favorite series! It is about a girl who has been able to hear people's thought ever since she was five! One day on a school field trip (she is twelve years old and in high school) she saw this boy looking at a picture of her in the newspaper! He ended up telling her that she is an elf! She moves to the lost cities and discovers that she was genetically modified to have more than one of the abilities that everyone else has one of and she can use them to the extent that no one else can! She finds out that the ones who created her were what was thought to be a rebel group also hid secrets in her mind!

Imagine leaving your life, to start a new one in a different place with people and things you don't know. Well, this is what Sophie Foster has to do. Sophie Foster has never been a regular girl. She's a 12 year old high schooler and has a photographic memory. Oh, she can also read minds. But one day, a boy finds her and tells her she's an elf and has to leave the human world. There she has to learn how to do all the other things other elfs can do and maybe there will be a few problems...

this book is so good I read it a while back but I'm rereading it now

Sophie Foster has never fit in. She's a 12 year old senior prodigy, has a photographic memory, and can read minds. She's been teased her entire life. When a boy meets her and seems to also be able to read minds, she learns that she is... different. She's an elf, and she has to live in the Lost Cities, where elves have hidden for years. She learns that she has secret information hidden in her brain, and some elves would do anything to get them... This was a great book. You effortlessly follow Sophie as she starts her adventure in the Lost Cities.

I'm still on the first book but this is still aw-some! it's about twelve year old Sophie who doesn't quite fit in, when she meets a boy named fitz, I don't want to spoil the story so i'm going to stop here, even though I haven't finished the book it is still super good! I think i'm on the 15th chapter.
