Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school... again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself. Until the Minotaur chases him to summer camp. Suddenly, mythical creatures seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy's Greek mythology textbook and into his life. The gods of Mount Olympus, he's coming to realize, are very much alive in the twenty-first century. And worse, he's angered a few of them: Zeus's master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Now Percy has just ten days to find and return Zeus's stolen property, and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus. On a daring road trip from their summer camp in New York to the gates of the Underworld in Los Angeles, Percy and his friends -- one a satyr and the other the demigod daughter of Athena -- will face a host of enemies determined to stop them. To succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the true thief: he must come to terms with the father who abandoned him; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of failure and betrayal by a friend; and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves.

If you are really into Greek mythology, especially gods like Poseidon, and Zeus, and Hades, than this book is definitely your style. It introduces the prospect of Oracles, sons and daughters of gods, (demigods). The prospect of true myths, and people and places from the Greek myths. All of them are real in this book. Percy Jackson is the main character (obviously) and he often gets into trouble. He definitely is way more reckless that Harry Potter, I can tell you that much. There are five books in the first series, (Percy Jackson and the Olympians) and five in the second series(Heroes of Olympus). Have fun reading it, and get lost in this book!

So basically I like this book cuz it's really awesome and I read it cuz my friend made me and I don't regret it😁😁

Imagine not knowing who your dad is, your mom married to a smelly man, and having reading disabilities, only to find out that your dad is the Greek god”Poseidon” you’re a demigod, and Greek mythology is real, how would you react? Read this book written by Rick Riordan, and find out how Percy Jackson, a 16 year old kid handled his life, while saving the world.

I like this book. I mean not like I LOVE Percy Jackson I recommend it for EVERYBODY!!!

I love Rick Riordan's books! I have every single book he's written for kids, and have a camp half blood sticker and shirt! I would definitely recommend this, 100%

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is THE best series ever. I totally recommend it and Rick Riordan also wrote Heroes of Olympus, the second series. The Lighting Theif is about Percy finding out about his true father and retrieving the master bolt from the actual thief to Zeus. it has so many plot twists and chapters ending in cliffhangers. I admit it made me cry more than once maybe because of Perabeth(a ship name for Annabeth and Percy).

Here are some more details about the book: Percy Jackson is a middle school grade boy that go's to camp half blood (refer to book) and deals with having to go on dangerous missions and well.........saving the entire world (sorry if that spoiled the book for you) I would suggest this for 3rd grade and up.

Amazing book about a boy dealing with being a half blood (refer to book for term) and growing up. I have read this book 1000000 times and will probably read this more. This is the shortest review I have ever done so if you want a better review from me than go to the movies section and look for my name in the ratings!

GOOD!!
