I really enjoyed this book because things definitely got worse before they got better. Between Ferns brother Holden being beat up from the get go to the death of ferns little brother, Charlie, the author couldn't have thrown anything more at Fern to overcome. It was overall very well written because of the detail of actions and exciting plot.

I read the book "Wildflower," by Alecia Whitaker. The book is about the main character, Bird Barrett. Bird and her family traveled all over America playing small gigs at night. One night though, when her Dad got laryngitis and couldn't perform, Bird took the lead solo. After that, she was discovered by a record company, and took her career to the next level. From then on, the book was written about her struggle to find fame in a judgmental world. I thought this book was good, but needed more action than there actually was. I think this because the story seemed to drag on at points. The book was filled with so much great detail, but if there were a little less detail, there would be more room for action. The book is realistic fiction because anybody can become famous when they work hard, especially in the music industry. One type of reader that would take an interest in this book is someone who likes stories about a person becoming someone to the public. Lastly, one internal conflict was when Bird had to decide to stay with her family, or start her career at 16. She had such a inner struggle, that she drove herself crazy with confusion of who she wanted to be. An external conflict was when she had her first concert and was very nervous because she thought the people didn't like her, after she was bullied because of her style. That conflict was known as girl vs society or group of other individuals.
