It was actually, kinda impressive. At first, I didn't really think this book is something I would like to read, I just didn't think it would appeal to my taste. But no, it was like, really good. The Next Great Paulie Fink is all about the horrors, ups, downs, and how to overcome that evil middle school version of yourself. It follows the life of Caitlyn Breen ,a girl in seventh grade that has to move to a new middle school in the middle of nowhere. She has to overcome the obstacle that is finding yourself. At the same time, she hears stories about a kid names Paulie Fink who, apparently, impacted the school and kids greatly. This book is different. It really shows the real side of middle school and how it was (truly) not the greatest. Hard. It was straight up hard, and this book shows that but with metaphors. I received an ARC from DogoBooks.

I really, really, really loved this book,and I usually don't like non-fiction, biographies, or any genre of that sort. This book took me by surprise. Here I am finding this book in the library and picking it up. Who knew I would actually fall in love with it? It's gripping. The author draws you in with the events and actions. He spins the words and makes a woven masterpiece. The suspense and mystery scenes were really engaging, the story line so intense. I found myself learning new things about Martin Luther King Jr. And can I just say how much I loved how the author spelled out most of MLKJ's life? This book wasn't just about the murder of MLKJ, it was about how he lead marches and changed America. Another thing that I liked is how the author wrote the scenes leading up to the murder. It seemed a lot like the show on National Geographic, Seconds from Disaster. It showed where James Earl Ray stood and how he shot MLKJ. I found that incredibly interesting. Oh, and I just loved how the author showed how the FBI and police tracked Ray and how he ran away. Long story short, I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a nice suspense/mystery-nonfiction-biography-type book.

** spoiler alert ** Hmm.. I don't know what to think about this one. I love the series, I love the author, and I love the characters. I loved how brave and fearless Cinder is. She was inspiring in a sense and entertaining. No.. wait, she was lovable. I really loved all the characters in the book but I had to address Cinder because the spotlight was mainly on her. The characters are what really kept the book from getting a two-star rating. Okay. Now the plot, story-line, and overall book. It was..long. Really long. Unnecessarily long. There were a lot of moments in the book when I felt like the author extended the book more than it was needed. I'm talking 400 extra pages for nothing I'm sure I am not the only one that complained about that. And can we just talk about the ending? It was sloppy. Really sloppy. It was nothing compared to Cinder, Scarlet, or Cress. It was way too simple. And knowing Levana and how she's cruel and evil and stuff didn't make me buy the ending. And can someone explain that Disney-moment-thing that happened. Cinder leaving Levana alone because Levana said (in a sense) 'sorry,' or something like that. Too cliche. And please, I don't fully understand the ending. Did Cinder beat her with her glamour or..? What about Scarlet and Wolf? Cress and Thorne? I know she gave us little snippets of an explanation but.. really? I don't know, but I am disappointed. The Lunar Chronicles will always be a series I will remember as a 'good' series. Winter was just the only black sheep.
