starmaster's book review was featured in Carlton Crumple Creature Catcher 1: Catch the Munchies!.
In this action packed graphic novel, Carlton finally gets so scared of his brother chasing him in monster costumes, that Carlton decides to become a creature catcher. His dad thinks that is stupid and tells Carlton to get a real job. Carlton then gets a job at a fast food restaurant. Meanwhile, a kid lazily throws a french fry into a lake which awakens an ancient lake creature! This made the creature hungry and it starts eating all the food in the world! Now it's up to Carlton to use his creature catching skills to save the planet. This book was not quite for my age but I would definitely recommend this book for grades 1 - 4, as the plot is simple and easy to follow and young readers will like the humor.

Middle School Bites is about a boy named Tom who is just starting middle school. Unfortunately for him he gets bitten by a vampire, a werewolf and a zombie just before middle school starts! Tom’s original plan was to to be “Invisible Tom” but not anymore with him looking like a vam-wolf-zom. Tom has lots of fun with his new powers like being very strong and fast, but at school he gets bullied for how he looks and he is always thirsty for blood. Middle School Bites is a book full of humor and fun! I would recommend for readers 9-12 who like: funny books, books with monsters, or books with mostly text but illustrations throughout the pages. :)

Have you ever wondered if Superman ever makes mistakes? Or if Green Lantern ever gets tired of wearing the same clothes all the time? Well, in this book you can find out! The way the book is laid out is that there are 8 chapters each about a kid writing to a superhero and having the superhero answer the question for you. The book is a quick read as it is a graphic novel and definitely worth it to read. As the book is just answering questions there isn’t a lot of action but there is still humor and amazing art. I would give this book 4 stars and recommend it for ages 7-14 for interest level and 7+ for how hard it is to read. Overall I liked this book a lot!

starmaster's book review was featured in Ronan Boyle and the Bridge of Riddles (Ronan Boyle #1).
First off I want to say this is my favorite book and I read a lot of books. Ronan Boyle is a kid who works in the Garda (Irish police) trying to get his parents out of jail. But while working at the Garda he encounters mythical creatures, goes on many adventures, and has a lot of fun. He enters the land of Tir Na Nog (Which before he thought was a totally made up land and all of the creatures there were nice) where he meets many creatures which he thought were fake but are actually real and love to do mean tricks. Ronan Boyle and the Bridge of riddles is really an amazing book that I would definitely recommend, especially for people who enjoy reading Harry Potter, but Ronan Boyle is definitely less scary and takes you on more of an adventure!

starmaster's book review was featured in Ripley's Believe It Or Not! Shatter Your Senses! (ANNUAL).
The 2018 edition of Ripley's Believe It Or Not! is an AWESOME book! It has so many interesting (and some creepy!) facts. To start, the front of the book is just as cool as the inside. It caught my attention right away because of the "holographic" eyeball on the front. Inside, I learned about SO much stuff! For example, did you know a man trained a polar bear and he trusted it so much that he let it bite his head? And there is a lady who made her face look like a dragon's face? She has lots of tattoos, too. I got to see a photo of her in the book. I liked that there were a lot of cool photos. Also, I love Pokemon! I was so excited to see that there is a whole two pages of just Pokemon fun facts! I think this book is lots of fun for kids to read, but I liked sharing the facts with my parents and older siblings. It's cool to know facts about a lot of topics. I'd recommend checking this book out!
