After reading this, I was like, “Okay, Shannon Messenger, you have completely exceeded my expectations.” The fifth book in the Keeper of the Lost Cities series is even better than the first four, and readers will find themselves with their noses buried deep into the story, just after the first couple pages. The amazing character development, thick, intense plot, and huge cliffhangers in Lodestar will surely satisfy both longtime fans and new readers of this series. Put down whatever you’re reading, and come read...drumroll, please...Keeper of the Lost Cities!
Summary: After the shocking betrayal of someone she though was her close friend, fourteen-year-old elf Sophie Foster doesn’t know who she can trust...and who she can’t. An evil group of rebels and renegades called the Neverseen are after her, and they would stop at nothing to kill her. When she joined the Black Swan, who are responsible for giving her special abilities like telepathy and being able to inflict pain, Sophie thought she would be safer. She was wrong. Can she protect her friends and stop the Neverseen in their tracks—once and for all? Read this book to find out! Overall, I loved this book, and rate it 5/5 stars. I would recommend it for every reader who likes fantasy, action, and of course, lots of fun!
