I feel as if this is a really good way to save food instead of wasting it. Like the third picture in the article conveys to a viewer, the U.S. wastes 40% of the food they buy. Think about it - that 40% of purchased food could save many lives around the world. Think of the starving children, miserable & attenuated. Think of the homeless, lonely & desperate. You should even consider those who are barely making it by, living off of food stamps, government funding, & taxpayers' money. If you decide to help these crestfallen people by providing them with sustenance & supplies, you're not just giving them food. You're also giving them hope. Hope that one day, they will never have to face hunger the same way. Hope for them & their family, their children; that they shall want for nothing. Just think about that when you're about to throw out your food. Think about where it should really go, in lieu of your garbage can. :) -BigMelo

I think that it is a good idea, but they have to keep the island balanced perfectly, or it could tilt dangerously. For example, if the people living there see a whale, and they all go over to one side, don't you think that that side would be heavier? The island could tilt and the people would all fall into the water. Also, it is still an island in the middle of the ocean. People living there could run out of food, water, or there could be an epidemic, and they would all die, having nowhere else to go. Someone could be a serial killer that secretly sneaks on, and kills all of the people. The possibilities are endless. With all of these dangers, there would have to be White-House-level security, and then it would be no fun to live on.
