Sugar Mae Cole's life is not all about happy endings and easy paths. Her father is distant, going back in forth in and out of her life while gambling in his extra time. Her grandfather, King Cole, has just died and without him, she doesn't have a strong hero. Her mother at first is okay, but when she and Sugar lose their home and head to Chicago, she starts to break down. Sugar learns, with the help of her dog Shush, that new beginnings are not always easy and she must take them in stride positively. Sugar also learns that she is in the world for a good reason - to put a little sweetness in people's lives. I recommend this book and would give it 4 stars

Eleven-year-old Melody is special. She has a photographic memory, something that can make her remember everything she's ever been through and seen. However, what most people see is her disability: cerebral palsy. People have no way of knowing that she is much smarter than everyone else from her physical looks. She has no way of showing her intelligence without being able to talk or walk. One day a machine changes her life and allows her to talk and share her impressive thoughts with others. With this new addition, Melody is able to join a quiz team, where she highly prospers despite her difference. With help from her family and friends, she can finally shine and show the world that what is inside really counts. I highly recommend this book and give it 5 stars!

Princess Tilda never knew one day she would be on a horse chasing and slaying dragons. She always thought she would be doing her penmanship while sitting in her office or hobbling around on her crutch with her crippled foot, living a simple yet boring life. Instead, she was captured by her evil cousin, but then thankfully rescued by her loyal friend Parz. Then off Tilda went, along with Parz and her faithful assistant to slay dragons. Little did Tilda know that dragon slaying was not easy, and many unexpected wonders would pop out at her during her travels. Tilda learns that life has more exciting things if you go out and look for them. This book is not something I would read again. Some parts of it were boring and long, and I do not prefer reading books about Medival times. I recommend it for people who enjoy reading books about knights and dragons. I would give this book 2-3 stars.

At first, Carley thinks she will never fit in with her new family's perfect life. She refuses to be kind with them and wants to escape. But all along, Mrs. Murphy will not let her go and is open to Carley's attitude. Soon enough, Carley softens up so much to the Murphy family that she never wants to go back to her old life. Soon, Carley's mother wants Carley to live with her again, and Carley has to make the biggest decision of her life. Whatever her decision may be, she knows that no matter what, the Murphys will stay in her heart forever. I highly recommend this book to a variety of audiences and give it 5 stars!
