micefeathers's book review was featured in The Crossover.
The book The Crossover is written by Kwame Alexander and is an lit book for a sixth grade boy/girl to read. The main characters are Jordan, alexis (Jordan's girlfriend), Josh, Chuck (dad), vondie, and the mom. The setting in The Crossover is at the bell home and at the middle school where they learn and play B-ball. The Crossover is a book about two african american brothers Josh Bell, and Jordan Bell that both love basketball but then find their relationship sinking as they go through middle school. The writing style in the crossover is good because it is in poems/raps and it is a good change from other books because it makes it more interesting and you want to read more. Here's some quotes from the Crossover “Never let anyone lower your goals”, Others’ expectations of you are determined by their limitations of life. The sky is your limit, sons. Always shoot for the sun and you will shine.” " When you stop playing your game you've already lost" "Now I'm laughing but only on the outside." This is a book young people are going to want to read twice to take in the theme and the story. Most middle schoolers are going to want to read this especially those who like sports, like basketball. The Crossover, won the Newbery Honor Award and the Coretta Scott Key Award. The author, Kwame Alexander is an author of 24 best selling books. He is currently living in Reston, Virginia.
