I started reading Rick Riordan books about two years ago maybe. It was August and blood of Olympus had just been released. Before I tried it, I didn't think Percy Jackson would be very good. I'd heard the name often and it felt like just another Harry Potter and as such, I didn't expect to be as in love with it as I am. So, one Friday, in school, I was wandering the aisles of the library, and I nothing seems to catch my eye when I notice a rack with the label "Percy Jackson" and I thought -What the heck- and I decided to try it. I randomly selected one book and sat down to read it. It just so happened that the book was The Lightning Thief. And the first sentence that I saw was "Look, I didn't want to be a halfblood." I was hooked. Completely, utterly, absolutely hooked. In the next two weeks, I finished the PJ series and the HoO series and the Kane Chronicles and i waited and waited and waited for the next books to be released. These books made me laugh and cry. They took me to a world I never knew I needed. They gave me hope, joy, endless love. I don't know who I would've been if I hadn't picked that one book that one day. I've reread them 0lenty of times since then and they never fail to make me fall in love with them all over again. My favourite part is the humour. No matter how sad I am, no matter how bad my day has been, any of these little packets of joy can make me laugh. I read the sample to the third book and I can already feel myself trembling in anticipation. I already have the first two. How could I not want it?
