In this book, Frank Einstein invents something he calls the "electro finger," and he wants to use it to power his town. The only thing stopping him is a chimp and a boy named T. Edison. They are trying to destroy all of the towns power plants and Frank's plan. Along with the story, were some cool and interesting diagrams showing how different kinds of power sources work. (solar panels, windmills, etc.) The story was a bit slow at the beginning, but the pace picked up towards the end. I recommend this book to anyone under age 10 who is looking for a funny, and educational quick read.

When this book arrived, it came in a milk carton. Yep, a milk carton from Yawnee Valley. I thought that was really cool because the story is set in Yawnee Valley a place known for one thing and one thing only: cows. When I first started reading this book I didn't really like it, but as I kept reading I started really enjoying the story. The illustrations were fun, and so were the cows. There were pictures on almost every page. The story starts off when Miles (who was a prankster at his old school) moves to Yawnee Valley. On the first day at his new school, he finds out that the school already has a prankster. A very good prankster. (I won't tell you who the prankster is though, you will have to read the book to find out) So Miles has a prank war to see who is the best prankster. (This was my favorite part because I liked reading about all of the pranks they pulled) In the end, they join forces and plan a secret prank. A really big prank. They call themselves "The Terrible Two" but you will have to read the book to find out more. I really enjoyed it and I hope that Mac Barnett makes a second one!

Did you like the Hunger Games? If so, then you might like this very similar novel. It features Beatrice, a teenage girl living in a post-apocalyptic world. On her 16th birthday, she must choose to devote her life to one of five factions. Will she choose her family or adventure?
