The book is about a boy in the 21st century Corey Fletcher who is known for having a oversized imagination. But on Halloween night before Corey was going to a Halloween party with his friend Leila when Corey was staring at a image of people on Halloween Night 1862 Corey noticed a few changes. Starting with the park, the park was fading into consturuction along two men came into view entering from swirling clouds of fog, soon Corey noticed the change in the bathroom flooring it orginally was tiled but then it changed to wood soon Corey began to realize that he wasn't in his own time. He saw Papou (grandfather in greek) with the other men and yelled trying to get his attention before Corey left what used to be Leila's apartment.
