This book is amazing. It is filled with action and adventure. You get a sense of what is going with Thor. The book is basically about Thor going against aliens who are called Dark Elves. Jane Foster, who is Thor's love interest on earth, accidentally absorbs dark energy that has been hidden from the leader of the Dark Elves. Thor then takes Jane to Asgard for protection. While there, Jane learns about Asgard Technology. Odin, Thor's father, is not pleased with Jane on Asgard and wishes her to be returned to Earth. Odin changes his mind once Thor proves to his father that Jane contains a possible connection to an old enemy of theirs from the Dark Elves. The Dark Elves come searching Jane on Asgard and Thor looses his mother. Thor then takes the Fight to the Dark Elves on their planet. Then he returns to Earth as the Dark Elves' Leader needs to complete the transfer of dark energy into his body. It is amazing story full of adventures. The author does a superb job of relating real science with fantasy science. For instance, Jane portrays an astrophysicist in the book. The scene where she absorbs the dark energy; gravity is lost in a scene and she begins to analyze this with conducting experiences. In fact keeping a record of this assists later in the book with destroying the dark elves.
