Del Rainey accidently joins the Purity Pledge in his new church in an effort to get closer to his long-term crush, Kiera Westing. He's convinced that he's joined for the right reason, and that what he was doing was okay. He also didn't think much of the pledge. Just something that would blow over in 8 weeks. Well, while in the group he met new friends and learned more about other people, Kiera, and himself. He realizes in time that he doesn't need to be with Kiera to be happy, and maybe Kiera doesn't need him. He learns more about how to treat friends and girls and that there is much more to the world than he would have ever known.
