Mia is getting used to her new family now that her mum is remarried to Eddie and she's gained a new stepbrother, Dan. She's in the groove of going to her dad's house on the weekends, and everything is going pretty well at home and at school. Well, except for Spanish class. Mia's parents and stepfather speak it and she does too - but speaking it and writing it are two different things, and somehow Mia ends up in the hands of the merciless Mrs Alvarez and almost failing Spanish class. Still, things are so good at home that Mia doesn't want to worry anyone or rock the boat. But when her parents find out - all three of them - she realises that instead of having two parents, she's lucky enough to have three, and all three of them pitch in to help her. A baker's dozen is a bonus!

I love cupcake dairies, and Mia is such a great designer and she has such a great sense of style!! This book is for ages 8-12. This book is a must!!!! Read the series!!!👩🏻

Why is Mia Velaz-Cruz failing Spanish class? She's spoken Spanish since she was a baby, but speaking and writing are two very different things. Her impeccable accent and lifelong experience do little to aid her in her Advanced Spanish class. However, Mia's too nervous to confront her parents about it. How will they react when their Spanish daughter is failing a class studying exactly that? On top of it all, Mia is trying to get used to having her stepfather Eddie around. He's funny and a great cook, but it's still strange for her to adjust to having three legal guardians. But as she looks more into her best friend Katie's past, and how her dad left her when she was a baby, Mia is glad to have an extra - a thirteenth cupcake, also known as a baker's dozen - parent after all.

This is a book in the cupcake diaries written by Coco Simon. In this book Mia is placed into the advanced Spanish class. But Mia is starting to fail the class! How will she tell her parents? Read the book to find out! I highly recommend this book! Hope you like it!

Everything in Mia's life was great. Her cupcake friends are supporting her, she has a new stepdad, Eddie, and a new stepbrother, Dan, and school was fine. Execept she was failing her Spanish class! It was one thing to speak Spanish at home with her family, and another to write in Spanish. Also, as the parent conferences approaches, Mia now has a new dilemma, who was going to the conference? Mom and Eddie, Mom and Dad, or all of them? Mia soon realizes that having an extra of something can be a great thing.

This book is good for ages 8-12 and for those that love baking, friends and girly things. I was able to read this book in 2 weeks but could probably faster but was busy. This book is a part of a series that has alot of books, this is the 6th book in the series. I hope to finish the series over the summer.

I have not read this book but my name is Mia so I think it will be awesome I'm on book 5so this is the next book.

This book really explains what Mia is going through. It must be really painful to have a real dad and a stepdad. I wonder what it is like! And to be in the advanced Spanish class without her parents permission? That's to much.

borrowed it from the library as soon as i picked it up i knew i would like and boy i did its about the cupcake club who sells cupcakes and they want more sales also the main character in this book is in advanced spanish class and is failing because she can speak and understand spanish but cant read or write so she starts to struggle then senora delgado (her spanish teacher) gives a note to mia to give to her parents.also sydney asks mia to read a text in spanish from jackson motanno but mia not able to read spanish properly gets the text mixed up which says 'te quiero' mia reads it as 'te queso' read it to find out more
