In this table-turning novel about the thrill of defeat and the agony of victory, the new rule at Jack Logan's sports-crazy New Jersey high school is that all kids must play on a team. So Jack and a ragtag group of anti-athletic friends decide to get even. They are going to start a rebel JV soccer team whose mission is to avoid victory at any cost, setting out to secretly undermine the jock culture of the school. But as the team's losing formula becomes increasingly successful at attracting fans and attention, Jack and his teammates are winning in ways they never expected-and don't know how to handle.

This book was certainly very unique. Unlike some books, where winning, sweat and blood are the stairs to victory, this book does the same, just- not the same way. Logan Paul is a athlete star- The record time for the mile, the legend of Muscles High. But when their principal collapses during the mile, trying to beat the record time, has a heart attack and dies,(thus the field is named after him) their new principal enforces a new rule- all seniors must be in a sports team. Jack Paul, the son of Logan Paul, doesn't think so highly of this rule. His dad makes him try out for the football team before tryouts start- (the new principal and football coach are good ol' friends) and Jack does great- except for when one of the players crushes him, sending him to the hospital with a mouth full of medical equipment and a minor concussion. After this, Jack really doesn't want to play football. In fact, the principal- Mulhdinger, says- Jack, you're on the team! Jack tells Mulhdinger that he doesn't want to play for his team, and, Muhldinger punches a hole through his door. Ya, not so happy. Jack joins the C-Team soccer club, a bunch of losers who suck at soccer. (except of course, Jack) Their first game is awful, one player falls asleep at the goal, one throws up on the side, one kicks the ball into a nearby lake and a player wades in to get it and drowns.....while Muhldinger yells and humiliates the team, the public and news ate it up. Before you knew it, the Losers Team were famous, their hilarious soccer match and the video of the things that Muhldinger said to them. (eeek, not so good for him). Read this book to find out what happens in the end- and I don't know- maybe the Losers will finally win, - or tie a game!
