I got this book and I wasn't sure if I would really like it. I though "I'll give it a try, why not?" But I opened the book and from page one it was probably the best book I've ever read. So basically the summary is: Tia Rose Frank is a skinny 12 year old girl who has some doubts about her life. She loves singing and joined a choir a few years back with her best friend, Keisha. The choir building is just outside of a gangly and kinda scary place. Tia's mom doesn't want her to walk through that part to get to her practices for choir, but it's so much quicker than going around in the route her mom planned out for her. She gets a few mild threats while going through it when she was running short on time, but she ignores them as best she can and just keeps walking. When she gets to choir there is shooting outside the church and everyone is so afraid! They call the police and go into the basement until the choir leader tells them it's fine to come upstairs. Tia got so scared that she fainted because it was unknowingly reminding her of her past. She then figures out from a newspaper it was a 10 month old baby shot by mistake and the child passed away shortly later. But she then kept thinking of her father who she knew was in jail ever since she was 4 years old. Tia doesn't know what exactly what happened, but then her, her mom told her once, didn't she? Why couldn't she remember? Later that day she goes over to her friend Keisha's house who suggests that they look it up. When they do, she remembers almost everything! Her father murdered a 12 year old girl named Danielle Morton after a robbery gone wrong. I don't want to spoil it for you, so ill leave it at that.
