    1. Kristen Alyce's favorite material is trash. The designer thought of using it by how she saw how much waste she and her three college roommates generated on a daily basis. Her first dress was made of plastic bags and rolled magazines. 2. Kristen was inspired to start a commercial venture because she spent a week working at Couture Fashion Week in New York City. There she observed the excitement generated by new and vintage looks and decided to see if her unusual idea would result in as much enthusiasm. She started with 12 garbage-inspired dresses. Her company is called Garbage Gone Glam. 3. Kristen's outfits retail for $500 to $1,500 USD and as much as $2,000 USD. One thing the author is not clear about is if they can make you sick if it's clean or not or if it's comfortable. Critical Thinking Challenge : In my opinion Kristen's customers should be willing to pay so much for their outfits that are made of trash because it's an unique style.

    1. The Action Productions trying to determine with their experiment was to see if other people would help people in needing of help. 2. The three scenarios that were set up were an elderly lady with a cane contemplates how to climb stairs while lugging a heavy suitcase, a tired subway passenger places a sign on his chest requesting fellow passengers to wake him when the train arrives at a certain station, and an a classic case of a woman struggling with bags of groceries only to get one knocked down by a careless passerby. The result of each was that good Samaritans immediately came to the rescue. Each was a serenaded by an A Cappella choir. 3.They were pleasantly surprised with their outcome because those that live in small towns with close-knit communities. However, they were in this case because the residents of large metropolitan cities like London have a reputation for being aloof and uncaring. Critical Thinking Challenge: One thing that I do nice for others is to hold doors for them and it makes feel really good inside.

    1. The apple tree in Ukraine is special because it is 220 years old and is 10,763 sq.feet and the last reason is that it has 18 trunks. 2. Scientist are surprised about the tree's behavior because is that while this method of reproduction is well-known for currant or gooseberry shrubs, it has never been seen in an apple tree before and is finding about another one of the kind of this tree. 3. Some legends is that is was planted by Prince Peter Sergeev to his wife who died at a very young age. Critical Thinking Challenge: The legend that out of the other two about the tree's behavior is that Prince Peter Sergeev planted it sbecause it's so old.

    1. It's the 44th year that the International Balloon Fiesta been going on in Albuquerque. 2.The city ideal for the event is for the festival, due to a wind pattern known as 'the box' which makes it easier to navigate the giant balloons. The event that organizers have to cancel this year was the premier gas balloon race because of the temperature. 3. 500 balloons were participating in the event. There were dozens of states and almost 20 nations. Critical Thinking Challenge: It would be dangerous to race in a extremely windy conditions because the balloons would blow away and inside the balloons would get extremely hurt.

When Bei Bei turns four years old she will move away from her home and live somewhere else. There are only about 2,000 panda's alive. They said that only 1,600 in the wild and 376 in captivity. 4. It is important to send big panda's back to natural habitat is because so they can get enough food in China and they can move to a different home and live there.

1.Dark streaks on the surface of Mars led scientists to first suspect there may be liquid on Mars. 2.The satalite that is orbiting Mars took some photos of dark streaks on the surface of Mars. The Martian water flow only part of the year, because it gets frozen during the winter. 3.The Curiosity Rover is not allowed to take samples of the Martian water, because it may contaminate a human. The scientist's only hope of getting their hands on the liquid is the ExoMars mission.

    1. Scientist may suspect liquid on Mars because of high-resolution images by Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter in 2011. They are hesitant to confirm it because why would they have an organic molecule analyzer that the European Space Agency plans to send on its 2018 ExoMars mission. 2. They verified the presence of liquid water is because they hypothesize that it may be seeping up from underground ice or aquifers, or condensing out of the thin Martian atmosphere. The Martian water flow only one part of the year because of when the temperatures 'warm' up to above -10° F (-23°Ç) and because of the water can remain in liquid form in such frigid conditions because of the presence of salt that helps lower its freezing point way below the average 32°F (0°Ç). 3. The Curiosity Rover not allowed to take samples of the Martian water because of though the mystery could easily be solved with a water sample, it is not possible even though NASA's Mars Curiosity Rover is just about 30 miles away from the source. The only hope for scientists to find liquid in their hands is with the help of the organic molecule analyzer that the European Space Agency plans to send on its 2018 ExoMars mission. Critical Thinking Challenge: I think what would happen if Earthly microbes came in with alien life is that we would could research about aliens and analyze them and take DNA samples.

1.What led the scientist to first suspect there may be liquid water on Mars is that weather got colder and colder and then it was getting hotter and hotter so the water was evaporating from the heat and the water came back from the change of the weather. They were not sure to confirm it because they think that it was coming the weather because of the temperature and the temperature changed how many liquid there will be in Mars. It also changed how much ice there will be and how much water were evaporated too. 2.How they verified the presence of the liquid water was by sending a robot to take pictures of the ice and the water. They also saw different pictures of Mars that had a lot of water and it all started to evaporated and it all became dry. The Martian water only flows on Mars part of the years is because the ground of Mars is sucking up all the water. 3.The Curiosity Rover was not able to take samples of the Martian water is because Outer space Treaty of 1967 prevented every nation from getting near the water source in other planets. The scientists only hope in order to get their hands on Martian water is to send a robot to transport the water quickly back to our planet. 4.If a Earthly microbes accidentally came and contacted with an alien life then the alien will probably try and come to our planet and visit and probably steal stuff.

The scientists first suspected that there may be liquid water on Mars because of its carved topography. They were hesitant to confirm it because they did not have concrete evidence. They verified the presence of liquid water by the spectrometer images. The Martian water flows only part of the year because the temperatures 'warm' up to above -10° F (-23°Ç). The Curiosity Rover is not allowed to take samples of the Martian water because the Outer Space Treaty of 1967 prevents any nation from getting too close to a water source on another planet. The scientist's only hope of getting their hands on the liquid is with the help of the organic molecule analyzer. If any Earthly microbes accidentally came in contact with alien life I think we would be in danger!
