This book is an action-packed adventure! I highly recommend it. I loved the Greek mythology aspect, and I could relate to the characters. The main character, Percy Jackson, was supposed to be just a kid who suffers from ADHD and dyslexia, but suddenly monsters were trying to kill him because he was a son of an Olympus God. He then goes on a suspenseful adventure with his friends.
This was a decent read. It's about siblings Kendra and Seth whose parents go off on a cruise. This results in them visiting their Grandfather Sorenson’s house for summer vacation. However, it ends up being far from a normal vacation. It'll be one involving magical creatures but also an evil force. This book had me laughing at times, and it became very exciting towards the end. I recommend this to fantasy fans.
I loved this book! I'm a huge fan of fairy tale re-tellings. This novel is about Cinder who is a human with robotic parts (a Cyborg). She has many challenges in the novel. One involves the Lunars, people who live on the moon and are trying to take over Earth. This novel is filled with all kinds of twists and turns. I will definitely be reading the next in this series.
I loved Blood of Olympus, as it was an action-packed end to a fantastic series. I stayed up very late because I had to finish this series. The characters were strong and smart in it. This series also promotes positive themes about bravery, kindness, and friendship. I highly recommend it.
Where the Red Fern Grows was a well-written book, but I didn't find the plot that engaging. It takes place in Oklahoma, and the main character Billy wants nothing more than to have two puppies. He wants to train them for hunting. Anyway, the ending was sad, which is also why I didn't like it.
Holes was simply awesome and VERY entertaining! It's about Stanley Yelnats who is forced to dig holes at Camp Green Lake detention center for a crime he didn't commit: stealing a pair of shoes. I loved this book because it has a really great mystery and a lot of action. It is also very funny at times.
Wonder is about Auggie Pullman who was born with a facial deformity and is about to go to school for the first time. It is a very uplifting story that had me both laughing and crying at times. I liked the message of the story and think everyone should read it.
This was an awesome book! It's about Jonas who lives in a colorless world that is supposed to be perfect. However, he receives an assignment as "The Reciever" - which causes his entire world to change. I loved the mystery of this book and it kept me wanting to know what would happen next.
The House Of Hades showed me how much Percy and Annabeth have grown since they first met. Since the series began, Percy and Annabeth banished many of their foes to Tartarus. It was interesting to see the characters interact with familiar faces from previous books in Tartarus. House Of Hades is probably my favorite Riordan book.
