This story is about a boy who lives in a poor family that wants nothing more than to fulfil his dreams of getting two hunting dogs. Unfortunately, his family is not very wealthy so they give him some traps to hunt with instead. The boy is inspired to raise money to buy two dogs, and eventually comes up with enough money. He goes off to buy the dogs, comes back, and then the story unfurls. Read Where The Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls for an amazing tale of loyalty and perseverance.
This movie is really bad. The animations are absolutely disgusting and the voice actors are not up to par. The plot is the worst part of this movie-- it is way too fast. And then they have a scene at least 5 minutes long of the two of them getting ready to see each other -- Why is that a scene? There are many other ellements in the plot that are absolutely unnecessary. In a script, a scene has to fit one of the 3 criteria: It has to be funny, essential to the plot or entertaining. Many of the scenes didn't fit any. I was forced to watch this movie on a bus ride back to my hometown after we had gone on a school trip and everyone in my class agreed that this movie is literal trash.
