This book was amazing! It shows a young boy, Manjiro, trying to raise money for his family, and goes fishing. He stumbles into a terrible storm, and gets lost at sea. An American ship finds him, and as he grows a close bond with the ship's captain, he has a big decision to make. He can either go with the American ship and live with the captain in America (and leave his homeland, Japan), or go back home to Japan. What will he choose? Read Heart of a Samurai to find out!!

Who Was Harriet Tubman is a truly inspiring book! It takes place at the time of slavery in the early 1800s. Harriet Tubman is a known hero who risked her life to free over 300 slaves on the Underground Railroad. This book describes her life and what it took to do the deeds she did. Throughout her whole life, she was helping people. I made a text to world connection because slavery made a big mark on the world and the people in it.

This is book is truly a work of art. It displays a group of boys (greasers) who are despised just by the way they dress , look , and act. Which is something many young kids may relate too in the fact that this is still going on in the world today. There is also another group on the other side of town call the soc's and they are the ones who judge the greasers just because they don't live the fancy life or have nice cars. They judged them for something that was so ridiculous , but the greasers changed for the good of themselves and not for the good of others. There is another lesson to be learned from this book it is the lesson of friendship. The greasers stuck together through everything and anything. There were always there for each other no matter what and they always forgave each other if somebody did something wrong. Another, thing is that they stuck up for each other. This book is a must for people who are interested in books about friendship, rivalry , and more.

Sally Ride: Life on a Mission tells the story of how Sally Ride became the First American Woman in space. It shows all the the hard work that Sally did proving herself that she could do anything a man could do. She had done so many things that were amazing when she was just a teenager. From becoming nationally ranked in tennis to graduating from Stanford , Sally is and always will be an inspiring role model for young girls.

If you like action and informational books than this book would be for you! It is about WWll and describing how Hitler and the Nazis were stealing important art masterpieces. I made a connection to this book from the world. WWll was a real thing and I read about it all the time. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who is into war or action.
