A good book for all ages above 9, Wings of Fire is the book of its time. It is about dragons, unlike humans, yet it keeps readers hyped and ready for whatever comes next. There is more emotion in it that there is in some other books. It is about some dragons that live with cruel "guardians" that want to boss them around so they would stop the war. They escaped and went to the real world where they encounter some weak humans (people are a small nuisance to them, kind of like snakes).I loved the book so much!Almost 9 years agofuntimesle added a new comment in
I would love to get the almanac. I sadly could not get the 2015 one, so it would mean so much to me if I got the 2016 one. I love geography, animals, architecture, science, and randomly awesome fun facts too! If I get the almanac, my love of geography would expand greatly. It has amazing interacting maps and pictures. It shows me what the habitats, landforms, and climate would be like. Habitats of different places will show what other animals are living with and how they survive. The landforms will show what the land has become over time and what it would be like if I came there. I would be amazed by this because I was always interested in picturesque landforms like the ones in Arches National Park. I would also like to learn about the climate because it shows how hot, how much it rains, and what summers and winters are in a specific area are like, so I can see how different my hometown is from other places like Hawaii. If I get the Almanac, my knowledge on animals will vastly expand. I could learn a lot more about how they live. For example, I could see what they ate, the unique adaptations about them, and how they lived. I would learn more about what they did than I could learn at the zoo because it has some good facts and nice information about animals. I think that getting the Almanac will help me learn about architecture. Since it has articles and features that show how interesting buildings are build and there is some interesting information that shows how they look and what the interior. I love learning about architecture because I love how people build buildings and what they look like...especially the interior. The National Geographic Almanac also features lots of scientific information. I would love to read about this because Science is so cool! The almanac sparks my imagination when it talks about space and new discoveries because I would love to think about how humans would expand in space in the future and come up with all sorts of ideas. Lastly, the almanac features a lot of fun facts. Not only are the funny and intriguing, I enjoy telling them to my friends and hearing them ask me, "how do you know that?" Also, later in the future the facts could come to use, or just make my day again when I find a funny picture with a weird fact! All in all, It would be AWESOME for me to get an almanac from national geographic and Dogobooks, because I need some facts and fun this summer, and this book will be my main provider. I read the book last year, and I reread it this year. It is an amazing...and new book that I would definitely read if I hadn't. It brings so much new things to your mind when reading books after you read it. Unlike most books, it is focused on a mythical animal.. A dragon! It starts deep in a cave, where dragons are living a cruel life with their horrible elders. The elders are part of some kind of rebellion, but when they are there, the rebellion kind of seems evil. The group of dragons escape and fly away to a different land where everyone is much crueler and they almost die! I would rate this book 5/5 because of how amazing it is!Almost 9 years agofuntimesle added a book review.
Sky raiders...what an amazing book! It gives you a whole new view on alternate world books, and I loved the book. It was filled with action, oppression, adventure, wonder, and so many other things. It is about a boy named Cole. When he is at a haunted basement with his friends, people come in and kidnapped them. Cole escaped, but his friend dont. He accidentally stumbles into a portal were people are fell into and he decides to spy on the people who put his friends in cages and took them away. He is caught and sold into slavery...to an interesting group of people. Thats all I am going to say! I hope you read the book. 5/5 rating from me!Almost 9 years agofuntimesle has read this book.

The Penderwicks...what an amazing story! I am used to reading high fantasy, but a little mix of magic and adventure in the real world (with a twist of historical fiction), makes a great story...It is amazing! It deservers to be a classic. There is a family of 6 called the Penderwicks, they have 4 female children (Jane, Skye, Rosalind and Batty) they are coming to a small town to live in a cottege, with their dog. They find a boy with a mean mom who is getting married, so they help him. Don't wanna spoil the book, so I will stop there. All in all, I think lots of people should read this, no matter what genre they love.Almost 9 years agofuntimesle has read this book.
