I really liked this book. I would say it's magical! It's about an entire family that have "savvy," which means special powers. The book is as adventurous and fun as the family it's about. Savvy makes you want to be part of the Beaumont family.

I haven't read any books in this series so far, but I would love to start. It sounds exciting and mysterious. I think I could write a thorough review of it for other readers.

This was an interesting book about a number of universal topics: family, community, love and loss. In addition, it deals with finding your way in the world and figuring out who you are. What I liked most about the book is the setting--an imaginary island off the coast of New England--and the magic that exists in the lives of the characters.

This is an intriguing story about a girl whose mother has cancer and whose father is no longer around. Lizzie often spends summers with her favorite uncle in his cabin in a wooded area of Pennsylvania, and it's here she chooses to stay while her mother undergoes treatment. What begins as a typical summer, soon takes an unexpected turn. A local prison break, the kidnapping of a friend, and Lizzie's desire to help lead to mistakes with dire consequences and questioned loyalties.
