Narwhal wants to become a superhero, and he needs a sidekick, so his best friend Jelly steps up to the job! EVERYONE knows that superheroes need superpowers, but Super Narwhal isn't sure what his superpower is. After Super Narwhal saves the day multiple times, it becomes clear that Super Narwhal's superpower is the power to bring out the super in others! I really liked this book, it's a super cute short story that is perfect for young readers. I also like how in the middle of the story the author includes a bunch of fun facts about REAL super sea creatures. The illustrations are super creative, and I definitely recommend this book. Enjoy!

maddyp18's book review was featured in Tornado Terror (I Survived True Stories #3): True Tornado Survival Stories and Amazing Facts from History and Today.
This book is different then the usual style of the "I Survived" books. Unlike the other books, this one tells about the TRUE stories of how two young boys survived two horrifying tornadoes, so all the facts are true. Usually the "I Survived" books tell about a true event and a not true family/story. The first story is about a boy named Adrian, who survives the Tri-State Tornado in 1925. Adrian was planning to participate in a marbles tournament the afternoon of the tornado, but then the tornado struck. The tornado had traveled through a few states, and had gained more power throughout its journey. Adrian and his family were lucky to be alive, and together, even though their house and all their possessions were ruined. The second story in this book is about a boy named Bennett, who survives the Joplin Tornado in 2011. The tornado happened on Bennett's birthday, which is pretty upsetting. Before the tornado arrived in Joplin, storm chasers Jeff and Kathryn Piotrowski were tracking it, and thankfully when the tornado finally hit they were okay. Bennett's whole family was also all okay, thanks to the Piotrowski's, who warned the police to get everyone to safety. I liked this book, but I only rated it 3 out of 5 stars because I like fantasy stories more then true stories. But if you prefer nonfiction, like this book, I definitely recommend it to you! Enjoy!

maddyp18's book review was featured in Dog Man Unleashed (Dog Man #2): From the Creator of Captain Underpants.
After I read the first Dog Man, I thought that there couldn't be a funnier book. I was wrong. One cop, (Officer Knight), and one police dog, (Greg), were the best crime fighters in the city. Officer Knight was super strong, and Greg the dog was super smart, and had amazing senses. Together, they kept the city safe. But, one day, Petey the cat sets up a bomb, and when they try to deactivate it, they forget that dogs are color blind. KA-BOOM! In the hospital, they learn that Greg the dog's body is dying, and that Officer Knight's head is dying. So the doctor attaches Greg the dog's head, and Officer Knight's body together, and TA-DA! Dog Man is created! There is one downside though: Dog Man had a couple very bad habits. For example, slobbering over everybody, obsessing over balls, and rolling around in dead fish. Will Dog Man's bad habits get the best of him, or will he prove to everyone that he can control himself? Find out in this ridiculously funny book, with strange new villains, and plenty of action and suspense. I loved this book so much! It is an amazing graphic novel, and you just can't stop reading it. I recommend this book to elementary school kids, and to anyone who loved the first Dog Man. I rate this book 5 stars, because I've laughed so much throughout it that I can't laugh any more. I love the part when Petey the cat escapes from jail by drawing a life size version of himself on paper, putting a bulletin board on top of the drawing, and yelling for help, saying his bulletin board fell on him. Then he slips out the door when the cop opens the door to save him. I hope you like this book as much as I do!

Kitty receives a letter from the Society of Cat Aptitude Management, which tells her that she has been using un-catlike behavior. So, Kitty has to pass a test to prove that she deserves to be a cat. If she fails, she will no longer be able to be a cat. The test is to lay an egg, and an evil chicken is the animal testing them, hoping they'll fail so that chickens can take over the world. But, with the encouragement of Chatty Cat, Uncle Murray, (who just wants to renew his drivers license), and her instructor, Kitty learns more about being a cat then she thinks. I really enjoyed reading this hilariously funny book, and I personally love the Bad Kitty books. One of my favorite parts is when Kitty learns that if she fails the test she won't be a cat anymore, because she writes, "ARE YOU INSANE?" on the wall. I also really like Kitty's character, from her rudeness, to her anger. I recommend this book to elementary school kids, and anyone who's read the Bad Kitty books and loved them. I rate this book 5 stars because I couldn't put it down. Please read this amazing graphic novel, and read the rest of the Bad Kitty books as well. Enjoy!
