I used to love the American Girl stories but now I don't really because they totally lack action.

Felicity Merriman is more than happy to visit Grandfather's plantation in the summer of 1775. She can't wait for Father to join them so the summer fun can REALLY start. She receives a perfect surprise---Penny! Felicity KNEW that they'd be together again someday. She is Grandfather's horse now, though. What will Felicity do when she returns to Williamsburg? Suddenly the family receives shocking news--- Father's apprentice, Ben, has suddenly disappeared. Felicity KNOWS that he has a good reason for running away, but no one else seems to agree. Soon she finds a secret note from Ben. He has run away to join George Washington's army of Patriot soldiers and is hurt. Suddenly Felicity is faced with a choice---will she help Ben? Or tell her father where he is? Her decision leads her and Penny to an exciting race against time. Then, before she goes home to Williamsburg, she is thrilled by a wonderful surprise. I recommend this book.
