This book review is about Fallen Angels written by Walter Dean Myers. The genre of this book is Young Adult fiction/historical fiction. This book takes place in Vietnam during the Vietnam war. The main character is Richie Perry. Perry is 17 years old and just graduated high school in Harlem. Terry was unsure of what he wanted to do in his future so he decided to join the army. In the army he met some of his best friends. He was sent to Vietnam where he witnessed things no human should see. There are quite a few topics addressed in this book. A few of the topics are war, health, and friendship. I like this book a lot because it helped me understand and go into the mind of a soldier during the Vietnam War. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes reading about one. I gave this book five stars. Finally my name is Dorian Morgan.

Here is Richard Perry, one of the many men who joined the war in Vietnam, but one of the few who returned. He is placed on the front lines with his platoon, and makes friends like Peewee, Monaco, Johnson, Brew, Lobel, Sargent Simpson, and Jenkins. I can tell you now, some of these guys didn't make it. Perry is scarred with the memories of dead people, violence, and the artillery. He and his friends come from different places, and came for different reasons, but they all have the same goal: To make it out alive.
