The illustrations are up to date (though still a bit too colorful, as are most books). The text material is sufficient. There is a very tiny introductory section. The relationships of the dinosaurs are explained in the individual sections. Dinosaurs are explained and illustrated with some depth, hinting at age and habitat. It's not a brilliant academic approach, more a popular and easy to read one. So there are no cladograms and skeletal and anatomical charts. It attempts to bring dinosaurs to life. Best part is definitely the art work.

Shop around, some paperback versions were printed in 2018. The original paperback of the early 2000s is largely the same.
