Following the overwhelming success of AWKWARD and BRAVE, Svetlana Chmakova's award winning Berrybrook Middle School series continues with its next installment - CRUSH!

Jorge seems to have it all together. He's big enough that nobody really messes with him, but he's also a genuinely sweet guy with a solid, reliable group of friends. The only time he ever really feels off his game is when he crosses paths with a certain girl... But when the group dynamic among the boys starts to shift, will Jorge be able to balance what his friends expect of him versus what he actually wants?

In the long-awaited third installment of Svetlana Chmakova's coveted Berrybrook Middle School series, Jorge Ruiz stars as the big guy everyone's afraid of. They couldn't be more wrong - Jorge has the softest heart anyone's ever seen - but he uses it to his advantage, influencing other students to make better decisions. As star of the baseball team, best friend to quirky Olivia and laid-back Garrett, and one of the most popular guys in school, all is well in the Jorge Ruiz universe. But suddenly, a meteor crashes into oblivion with the name of Jazmine (a GIRL!), and Jorge's world tilts beneath his feet. Jazmine's fun, cool, sweet, and a great actress...and she's also one of Olivia's best friends, meaning she's totally off-limits. She has a boyfriend, too! But somehow, Jorge can't nurse his crush, and begins to fall for her more and more every day. The Sports Ball is coming up, and when Jazmine suddenly breaks up with her boyfriend, can Jorge (the big guy everyone's afraid of, the one who's led the school to sports victory, remember?) summon up the courage to ask her to the ball? Fresh, zesty, and in beat with middle school crushes, I would one hundred percent recommend this to anyone of any age!

i agree the book was really good mostly because jorge is normally the tough guy to others but to his friends hes genuine. so its nice to see him react to having a crush.

#ReadItAllImmediately! This book is the next book in the Awkward series, a personal favorite of mine! Jorge is used to being the "bully police". Everything is balanced: school, sports, homework...and then, there's Jazamine. Jorge tries to figure out why he acts so weird around her without meaning to. Answer: He has a crush on her! So begins the AWKWARD (book number one) journey where Jourge has to be BRAVE (book number two) and figure out how in the world to deal with his very-first CRUSH. This is a book that teaches lots of lessons, not just how to talk to your crush, but also the importance of cyber bullying and treating others with respect. Feast on this quick, entertaining read! Enjoy!

This book is about a middle school kid name, Jorge. He's a big guy who you don't want to mess with. He has several friends, until he met up one his friends friend, who he thinks like...
