When 14-year-old Elliot Schroeder is selected by NASA to be the first Junior Astronaut, he has no way of knowing the profound effect it will have on Vincent Ole Tome, a Maasai herder who is also 14 years old. An unexpected event puts the boys in contact via short-wave radio, and an African drought and an in-space emergency bring about a climactic fact-to-face meeting.

this book is amazing!

I LOVE this book as a reader and a teacher. So many great ways to use it in my classroom! Laugh out loud parts that get me every time.

I LOVE this book both as a reader and a teacher. Great book to do a compare and contrast essay on. I love when my students start comparing and contrasting with out my prompting.

This book is epic because Franny and her family are living is fear of being bombed. Also in this book Franny and her friend. She finds a new friend named Gale. I think this book is my favorite book ever made.
