This is such an amazing book I think that if you are reading this review then you have to read it. It is set in Victorian times and the girl is called clover moon . I listen to this book on CD to and it helps me get to sleep!

Clover moon is a real little mother to her sister, 3 half brothers and 2 half sisters. Life for her in cripps alley takes a sudden turn when her sister ,Megs, dies of scarlett fever! Clover is stricken by the death but her cruel stepmother refuses to let clover attend the funeral. When Clover gets some black clothes from her friend, Mr.dolly, she sneaks of to Megs funeral. But Mildred,her evil stepmother, finds out and introduces caning. Clover turns to her father for help but he agrees with Mildred. Clover runs away to a facility for destuite young girls suggested by her artist friend Mr.Rivers. But will clover be happy once again?

I read this book a few weeks back and I fell in love with it from the first page I read, I especially love the links between this book and hetty feather
