As 11-year-old Hope struggles to live under the pressures of her verbally abusive mother, she's tempted to run away but instead chooses resilience. She creates a secret safe haven and an innovative point system (giving herself points for every bad thing her mother says to her); finds comfort and inspiration from Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl; and gains a support team. Ultimately, Hope is able to confront her mother about her hurtful words and help her begin to change.

this is a petty good book. It does have some language. Not the best book i have ever read. but it is still good

GOOD BOOOKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!! I recommend it if you love teen reads.

This book is incredible! Amazing! Sad. Her mother bullies this little girl, by calling her names and rude things. "Inconvenience, stupid, brat." But she pulls through it with two lovely women from a consignment shop that act like her "good' mother.

This book is about a girl. She is constantly bullied by one person in her life. Her mother. Her mother calls her 'Hopeless' and other mean things. With the help of the characters in "Life Is Beautiful", a movie about the Holocaust, she creates a point system. With the field trip ahead, working at Next to New, and doing some stuff her mother doesn't like, Hope tries to cope with her verbally abusive mother. Note: This has some minor bad language used repeatedly to emphasize Hope's mother's abuse.

I think it would definitely be parents reccomended, it is a really good novel and well all I can say is... people should read it.

its a book that all moms and daughters should read it touched my heart and it made me feel like moms are there for us

Sad but good novel about Hope, a girl who is orally abused by her mother. In the end, her mother realizes how Hope feels when Hope spills out her feelings, and they become closer as a family.
