Book 1 of 8 in the  BODYGUARD Series
A new action-packed adventure series for young fans of Alex Rider and Jason Bourne--with the first four books publishing simultaneously. Binge read for summer!

Teenage kickboxing champion Connor Reeves is determined to do his father, a former special forces soldier, proud. Recruited into the ranks of a top-secret young bodyguard squad known as Guardian, Connor trains in surveillance, anti-ambush exercises, hostage survival and unarmed combat. Whatever it takes to prepare him for the dangerous missions ahead.

But nothing can prepare Connor for his first assignment when the US president summons him to protect the First Daughter. For not even the Secret Service knows that a terrorist sleeper cell has been activated in America. Its mission: to take the president’s daughter hostage.

Combining pulse-pounding action, diabolical enemies, and an insider's knowledge of the tricks of the trade, the BODYGUARD series is the perfect target for fans of Alex Rider, James Bond, 24, and Jason Bourne.

“Breathtaking action . . . as real as it gets.”—Eoin Colfer, author of the bestselling Artemis Fowl series

This book is exciting, and got me interested by just looking at the cover. Conner Reeves has been trained for dangerous missions. He has been recruited into the top secret bodyguard squad known as the Guardian. Even with all his training, nothing could prepare him for his first assignment. His first assignment is when the U.S. president hires him to protect the First Daughter. Since there is now an intense media focus on celebrity families and politicians, adults are no longer a target for blackmail. Their kids are now, too. This is why there is a need for a bodyguard. This book was very interesting, and it was a very good start to this series. I recommend this book to people who enjoy mystery books. I definitely recommend the books following this one. I rate this book 5/5.

AWESOME!!!!

book one is ok but i think book two is the best of those two.

Connor Reeves, the newly acclaimed Britain Junior Kickboxing Champion, finds himself caught up in an over-the-top-secret organization of kids called Guardian, where he is training to be a Bodyguard. But when he gets his first assignment after only a few weeks of training, Connor doesn't know if he's ready. When it comes down to it, could he really give his life for someone else? This book was one of the best I've ever read! You'll get lost in the action and when you've finished you'll be scrambling to get your hands on the next one!

This was an excellent book! The main character, Connor, is a very skilled at kickboxing and jujitsu. Infact, he wins the junior kickboxing championship in the UK. After winning the title, he becomes a child bodyguard. After training for 12 weeks, he gets a job. To protect the president's daughter. Read the rest of Recruit and read Hostage to find out the rest of the story! I recommend this book and hope you enjoy it as much as I did. A great job on Chris Bradford's part!

This was an excellent, quick, enthralling read. The main character, Connor, was pragmatic, skilled, charming and likable. You could definitely tell the intricate research the author brought into the book. The side characters were all multifaceted and my feelings shifted for them over time. I read the book over a few hours, unable to put it down. I loved reading about the inside world of the White House and the antics of the first daughter. It was impossible to be bored while reading this book. In conclusion, this made an fantastic beginning to what is sure to be a fascinating series.
