Homeland meets Marie Lu's Legend in Blackout, which #1 New York Times bestselling author Ally Condie called "a thrilling combination of Wells's trademark twists and terror. Fantastic!"

Laura and Alec are highly trained teenage terrorists. Jack and Aubrey are small-town high school students. There was no reason for their paths ever to cross. But now a mysterious virus is spreading throughout America, infecting teenagers with impossible superpowers—and all teens are being rounded up, dragged to government testing facilities, and drafted into the army to fight terrorism. Suddenly, Jack, Laura, Aubrey, and Alec find their lives intertwined in a complex web of deception, loyalty, and catastrophic danger—where one wrong choice could trigger an explosion that ends it all.

Do you ever wonder what it would be like if almost everyone had super powers? Then I would personally recommend Blackout by Robison wells. The story is set in a world where a virus is causing kids and teenager to have super powers or abilities. Some don’t even notice they have them, others do and just keep it secret and some just don’t have it at all. But a large group of these teens has created a terrorist group. One squad of these said terrorists consists of Dan who can make stone or rock explode, Laura who has super strength, and Alec who is a master manipulator. These will turn out to be our antagonists later in the story. These will be just a few people we follow in the story. On the other side of the story we have Jack and Aubrey, our protagonists. Jack doesn’t have any powers, or so he thinks….. and Aubrey can turn invisible. But only for short periods of time because it drains energy from her body. Eventually these two groups will be in each others lives in a way you could have imagined. This is the major turning point in the story. The United States have been crippled by the terrorist attacks so badly they have set up roadblocks between states and towns to make sure the terrorists cannot move throughout the country. This will turn out to be a major conflict for Jack and Aubrey to get across the country. Another conflict they will have is that the military is rounding up anyone positive with the virus and jailing them. It really is a great thriller. The book is full of twists and turns and if you’re into this kinda stuff, I highly recommend you check it out.
