From bestselling Printz award-winning author Libba Bray, the story of a plane of beauty contestants that crashes on a desert island.

FORMAT: 10 CDs, Unabridged

Teen beauty queens. A "Lost"-like island. Mysteries and dangers. No access to e-mail. And the spirit of fierce, feral competition that lives underground in girls, a savage brutality that can only be revealed by a journey into the heart of non-exfoliated darkness. Oh, the horror, the horror! Only funnier. With evening gowns. And a body count.

From the description, Beauty Queens, looked like a fun book but after reading the first chapter I didn't like it at all. The way it was written, I didn't like, and the plot could have been better. I only read to like the fourth chapter and got really tired and bored of it. It is worth a try if you want to read it, but be warned it is disapointing.

I thought that this would be a funny book when I saw the cover that talked about beauty queens stranded in a plane crash on a desert island. It was not as superficial as I thought though, there were lots of informative and empowering parts about feminism and stuff. I would recommend this to any of my friends who are juniors or seniors in high school.
