HarperCollins is proud to present its new range of best-loved, essential classics.

‘A slow and heavy step, which had been heard upon the stairs and in the passage, paused immediately outside the door. Then there was a loud and authoritative tap.’

Set against the foggy backdrop of London and the English countryside, each story in this quintessential collection unravels an exciting new mystery, from mistaken identity and portentous omens to counterfeit currency and jewellery theft. They follow the famous detective and his partner Watson on the trail of some of their most enjoyable cases, including ‘A Scandal in Bohemia’, ‘The Five Orange Pips’ and ‘The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle’.

Appearing in the Strand magazine between 1891 and 1892, these are the first stories ever published to feature the famous detective Sherlock Holmes, whose adventures hold an unparalleled and enduring appeal to this day.

i think is an amazing book. Its so facinating when you find out how Sherlock thinks through everything!

One of the main thing that the main character learned during the problems he solved is if you want to help somebody solve a problem, it doesn't have to be a good way or a bad way.You just have to solve the problem that a person asked you. For example,in the story a Sherlock Holmes solves a problem that had to hurt somebody to solve the problem.I know that because a dog bites a person really hard in the story. Then Sherlock Holmes learns that if he want to help somebody, he have to do what is right or do what is have to be done.In the end of the book, he learns that if he had to lie about something to make a person's life better.Additionally the last thing that he learns is Always help people. I rate this book a "9 out of 10" and

This is a really amazing book. It contains many mysterious and exciting mysteries. Not only are the mysteries mysterious, they also contain a lot of adventure and they are exciting. Throughout the stories, you learn things about the characters.

Sherlock Holmes is very awesome because of his mysteries and his intelligence. I recommend his book to any body because of the interesting mini stories in one book about Sherlock's Adventures. This book is an amazing creation by Arthur Conan Doyle.
