So. Here it is. My summer journal. As you can see, I got a little carried away. The problem is this, though. I don't want you to read it. I really mean it. I just wanted you to know I did it. I didn't want you to think I was one of those kids who says, 'Oh yeah, I did it, but I lost it/my dog ate it/my little brother dropped it in the toilet.' But please, PLEEASE DON'T READ IT! How was I to know all this stuff was going to happen to me this summer? Mary Lou has what she calls a normally-strange family. That is, until her cousin Carl comes to stay. She had plans to enjoy the summer hanging out with her first ever crush, but there's something so quiet and sad about Carl, and Mary Lou knows that no one else in her chaotic home will bother to find out why. So it looks like it's up to her -- and what she discovers is far from normal and rocks the family to its heart.

AMAZING BOOK!!! I give it INFINITE STARS!!! I can't use words to explain how much i love it. My fave so far by Sharon Creech. Mary Lou (Finney) is a girl with 1 sister and 3 brothers. Her teacher asked her to write a journal over the summer, but someone got too carried away. Later, her cousin Carl Ray comes to town and things are starting to get interesting for a change. This story will sweep you off your feet! With love, loss, and complex situations, i can guarentee you will love this book. I loved it so much i've read it about 15 times (and counting) and i followed it!

I am in 6th grade, and I read this in my free time. It isn't a hugely popular book, but I absolutely LOVE it! It has just the right amount of just about every emotion, and it is funny and sad in just the right places. I really enjoyed reading it, and it is now one of my all time favorites. I tried to read it in 1st grade, but it didn't interest me then. I think any girl (or maybe even boy, I'm not sure) 4th grade age or above will greatly enjoy this book. Like I said, it isn't totally popular, and I never would have heard of it if it weren't for my aunt. She was best friends with Sharon Creech's daughter. I only know one other book by Sharon Creech, and I haven't read it . . . yet. It's called Walk Two Moons, and I'm sure it will be just as good as Absolutely Normal Chaos.

Absolutely Normal Chaos is one of the best books, in my opinion. I read this in my class when we do independent reading, and it was absolutely one of my favorite books! It is really funny, and has some heart in it too. It takes you through the summer of a 13-year old girl named Mary Lou Finney who has a huge family. She goes through a lot, and has a crazy adventure! I highly recommend you read this book! It takes you through an amazing journey!
