Since her parents' bitter divorce, McLean and her dad, a restaurant consultant, have been on the move-four towns in two years. Estranged from her mother and her mother's new family, McLean has followed her dad in leaving the unhappy past behind. And each new place gives her a chance to try out a new persona: from cheerleader to drama diva. But now, for the first time, McLean discovers a desire to stay in one place and just be herself, whoever that is. Perhaps Dave, the guy next door, can help her find out.

Combing Sarah Dessen's trademark graceful writing, great characters, and compelling storytelling, What Happened to Goodbye is irresistible reading.

This is such a good book.It has romance in it.You have to read a bit before you get to the good parts. If you like this, you will like other books that she has written

One of my top twenty best defenitely. Its about a girl who falls in love like most her books but usually theres an exception and boy is there one in this book read and find out what im talking about then comment on my page. Her best book, I think.

Such an AMAZING book! Mclean has pretended to be so many different people in all of the schools that she has attended. She never was able to just be Mclean. She didn't know who Mclean really was. Then, she meets Dave. Dave is willing to help Mclean find Mclean. This is a great book for people who absolutely love happy endings.
