There's nothing wrong with Wilma Sturtz. She's perfectly nice. But nobody cares about nice at Claverford, her middle school. Wilma is left out, forgotten, ignored--until she meets an extraordinary old lady who grants a wish: for Wilma to be the most popular kid in school. Presto! Everything changes. Now Wilma has more best friends than she can keep track of and forty dates to the Graduation Night Dance; and someone is writing her love poetry. What more could she want? Nothing! But will it last? How can Wilma make sure she is never unpopular again?

From Gail Carson Levine, author of the Newbery Honor book Ella Enchanted, this modern-day fairy tale shows a very real girl in a very unusual predicament, and along the way it reveals some painful truths about whether or not we really want to be liked for who we are.

This is a book about a girl who is invisible and in the background at school so when an old lady asks tells her she can have whatever she likes, Wilma Sturtz asks to be the most popular girl in school. Suddenly she has everything she wished for and more, but nothing lasts forever. Wilma is faced with the problem that her time in the spotlight is running out. The book is amazing

The Wish is about the main character, Wilma. Wilma is an average girl until she helps an old lady onto the train. On the train, the old lady, asks what her wish is, and Wilma gets her wish granted, sort of. This book is filled with emotion, description, and detail

This is one great book. I like it because it has lots of emotions, describes things clearly, and tells us what Wilma thinks. Good writing!

Great, slightly predictable roughly, 200 pages, finished in one day, could not put it down

I decided to read this book because it talks about real life. Most girls go through what Wilma(the main charataer in the book) went through. So, go ahead and read this book!

A lot of people said that it was interesting.Even though there few disgusting parts like going on dates with wilma, the main character's boyfriend.

Personally, i loved this book. im a big fan of Levine, but this book stood out. i think that its a good book because it includes magic (!) but also includes middle school life.
