A New York Times bestseller!

From Morgan Matson, the bestselling author of Since You’ve Been Gone comes a feel-good story of friendship, finding yourself, and all the joys in life that happen while you’re busy making other plans.

Andie has a plan. And she always sticks to her plan.

Future? A top-tier medical school.
Dad? Avoid him as much as possible (which isn’t that hard considering he’s a Congressman and he’s never around).
Friends? Palmer, Bri, and Toby—pretty much the most awesome people on the planet, who needs anyone else?
Relationships? No one’s worth more than three weeks.

So it’s no surprise that Andie’s got her summer all planned out too.

Until a political scandal costs Andie her summer pre-med internship, and lands both she and Dad back in the same house together for the first time in years. Suddenly she’s doing things that aren’t Andie at all—working as a dog walker, doing an epic scavenger hunt with her dad, and maybe, just maybe, letting the super cute Clark get closer than she expected. Palmer, Bri, and Toby tell her to embrace all the chaos, but can she really let go of her control?

I love this book so much! It's slow in the beginning, but really picks up.

Can you imagine having your entire summer laid out and perfect, but then it all gets ruined? Well in The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson that’s what happens to the protagonist Alexandra (Andie for short) Walker the daughter of a popular congressman. Her father is in the middle of a work crisis so he’ll be around a lot this summer. The book brings you to Stanwich, Connecticut at the beginning of the summer in 2016. Andie has her summer all laid out she’s doing the Young Scholars Program at John Hopkins University so she won’t be with her father or with her friends. She has a ride she’s all packed everything’s perfect. But the morning before she was scheduled to leave she got a phone call that would change her summer. Her letter of recommendation was withdrawn. By the antagonist Dr.Rizzoli. So that means she is stuck in Connecticut for the summer. She had to find a job quickly before nobody else was hiring. She also had met her boyfriend Clark who is a writer and currently has writers block and needs to write a book soon. She will try and help Clark with his writer's block and hopefully he’ll have another book by the end of the summer. Will Andie find her perfect summer and help clark with his book? Or will nothing go her way? If you like realistic fiction books and is in middle school I would recommend this book to you.
