This was a very interesting book by Lauren Myracle. I wasn't sure if it was going to be my style of book or not, and it wasn't, but I still liked it a lot! It is a half mystery and half fantasy book, and I really liked it. Natasha Blok lives in an interesting and different town which is blanketed in magic, but not everyone believes in it. The tradition goes like this, on the third night of the third month after a girls thirteenth birthday, they get to make three wishes, the first wish is an impossible wish, the second is a wish she can make come true herself, and the last and final wish is the deepest wish of her secret heart. Natasha wants to believe in this magical tradition that her great, great.... (I am not exactly sure how many greats).....grandmother started, but is not sure if she should. Now, she ends up making her three wishes and mysterious things start happening, including notes that she isn't sure who they are coming from, an eccentric old lady, and crushes (though not exactly who she was expecting). The book gets only partly wrapped up in the end and you have to read the next book to find out what happens. I loved this book because it was very easy to relate to and I think that this book is a great read for middle school girls.

This is the second book in the wishing day trilogy and it is told in Darya's perspective. I really liked the first book and it ended in a cliffhanger which is why I decided to read the second book. I definitely liked the first book way better than this one. In "The Forgetting Spell" I felt like the same things were just happening over and over but in different ways. The story also moved along really slowly and I felt like most of it was just Darya being mad or feeling sorry for herself. The main character Darya does not model good behavior at all, and I understand that she might be acting this way because of the situation she is in, but she takes her anger and frustration out on the people that love her the most. Most of the book was this happening again and again, and I didn't really get what the plot was. I felt that this book was a bit unnecessary, and the series would have been better if it just went from the first book to the third book with a little modification. Overall, it was an okay book and just wasn't my favorite from this author. I liked the first book better and I am reading the third book currently and it is pretty good. All of this is just my opinion and I think the book was still written really well, it was just that the story and plot line didn't hit the mark for me.

It was a very engaging adventure and fantasy story. The main plot of the story is deeply interesting though there are many teensy tiny problems along the way. Even though it is just a story that you might read , you should be ready at all times to find yourself in an a new world of book imagination.

In the book, there is a theory. There are lions, gazelles, meerkats, and fleas. Frederick is a flea. When things do not go his way when the cruise is cancelled, his friend Joel puts a boat in the river. Frederick steps on it, and then sails away. But this time, the boat wasn't in his control and he floated away to a faraway camp. He has fun until he realizes that it is a discipline camp. But that was the least of the problem. One teammate, Ant Bite does into the woods when a storm is headed their way. Frederick goes to find him and they end up trapped when they returned. So I read this book last year when I was in 5th grade and it is so good! I love the worst witch and I'm glad jill Murphy released a new book. It is so fantastic in the end at the forth years first.
