The Contract is about young Derek Jeter, a middle school boy who loves baseball. Derek dreams of becoming the shortstop player for the New York Yankees when he gets older. In order to help Derek achieve his dream while also focusing on other parts of life Derek's parents put together a contract outlining rules about school and family time. Along with other things he has to keep his grades up, or no baseball. Derek is very excited to play Little League, but is disappointed to find out his team is the Tigers. But, he still is excited to play shortstop. That is until the day he is assigned he starts at second base. And Derek's team definitely has its low points. Can Derek keep up with school and family and pursuing his dream all while trying to keep his team together? To be honest this wasn't my favorite book at all. I like the idea, but in many ways it isn't realistic. One example, is that Derek never loses his temper on the field, and he never says one bad thing to another player. At home he confides in his parents, which is a good model but he also gets over things way too fast. I do however like the theory of the book, and I think some younger boys would like to read it. I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars.

This book is about a really good shortstop in baseball and he has to play second base because there is the best kid who has to play shortstop.

This tells us the story of a girl Ramona Quimby. Ramona sees the world differently and she shares with us her own thoughts. She is imaginative and creative and it is a lot of fun reading what she does in daily life. Ramona Quimby, Age 8 is also a Newberry award winner.

It's the best book ever, so far! I totally recommend! I LOVE DISNEY DESCENDANTS! I have every single DISNEY DESENCENDANTS book possible. My favourite characters are MAL AND CARLOS, but mostly MAL!

This book was a fun and fast read!! I really enjoyed reading about the things that would happen to Weir at school...and at home! This is a great book if you are looking for something fun and simple!

This book was really good. It is about kids who ran away from their homes and traveled to an unknown place just to bury a dool who has been haunting them forever. The doll is actually full of the ashes of a little girl who killed herself and her father. Creepy but awsome.

Great book! Patina (Patty) Jones is a runner by default. Her mother cannot run because she has no legs, so she lives with her aunt and uncle. This year she transferred to a new school where she has no friends. And to top all that, her first track meet with her new team got her placed in second. She is mad. She is sad. She is scared. When her aunt gets into a car accident on the way to drop Patty’s younger sister off for a field trip, she realizes how much she appreciates her, and is very thankful that Maddy wasn’t hurt. This is a sweet tale of family and breaking through barriers. Enjoy!

This book is a really good book because the book is telling about a girl in gymnastics and she loves to be in gymnastics and that is her hobbie and she loves her family and then she breaks her leg so she can't do gymnastics until her leg heals and is not broken she is able to do gymnastics again ❤❤ she is the best gymnastics girl and the other girls laughs at her when she fall when her leg twisted

This book is about a girl named Mckenna who lives close to downtown Seattle and loves gymnastics. Every year she has done well in reading. One day, she starts struggling with reading comprehension. Since her grades drop lower and lower, her parents say she might have to pull back from gymnastics. Will she catch up on school or will she be held up on gymnastics? I loved the Mallory series ever since I started to read chapter books at the age of 5+ and I still love this series and "Happy New Year, Mallory!" is one of my favorite books. If you want to read this, this may be a spoiler alert. Mallory can't wait till the New Year's reunion with a 2 friends from Camp Lake and her bestest friend Mary Ann but her tummy doesn't really feel good and she has no interest in eating ANYTHING!!! Not even her grandma's famous muffins which are her favorite but she just thinks she excited but then everything changes. She has to be rushed to the hospital to get a appenix removed, it seems like her friends forgot about her, and instead of having a fun New Year's with her friends and family, she has to spend New Year's in the hospital. But Mallory didn't know her friends and family threw a surprise party for her!!! And she learned even though things don't happen the way you wanted it to be, it will always come with an happy ending.
