From growing up in a run-down motel which she called home for years, to glamorous New York City, Misty Copeland made her mark, becoming the first female to be a principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre (ABT). Most girls and boys who dream of becoming ballerina’s start at the ripe age of three or four. But not Misty. Instead, she started at age thirteen. Misty said later that, “I was a late bloomer, starting ballet when I was only thirteen.” Although it seemed too late to start, Misty, with determination and support from teachers, became a “prodigy”. But Misty didn’t stop there. By the age of nineteen, she joined the Corps De Ballet at ABT. Even then, Misty said that her “ultimate dream was to become a principal dancer” which would later come to fruition. But before she could fulfill her dream, Misty set out to work hard and make her mentors and family proud. Famous ballerinas, such as Raven Wilkinson, were pleased and amazed with Misty. Even with struggles and injuries, Misty pushed forward, determined to show aspiring ballerinas that it’s never too late to make a difference. Even with her hard upbringing, Misty made history when she became the first woman to be a principal dancer at ABT. Through Misty’s life we can see that support and passion are some of the best qualities you need to achieve your dreams. She shows that passion and support can get you far. With Misty’s influence, young boys and girls can be inspired to dream big and work hard for what they want. Misty’s life proved that it doesn't matter where you come from or what ethnicity you are, you can still achieve great things.

People often say: “You’re just a kid, you can’t do anything”. Well, some kids like Ruby Bridges, did do something! She faced crowds that said that black kids can’t go to white schools. But she went to the school anyway! Or Rosa Parks, who refused to move to a different seat so a white passenger could sit. This book tells the true childhood stories of kid activists. Such stories like Helen Keller, the blind and deaf girl who stood up for disabled people. Frederick Douglass taught escaped slaves; Harvey Milk thought everyone should be treated equal, Iqbal Masih fought to end child slavery, while being a slave himself. And Malala Yousafzai thought that everyone should have education. After all, in order to become an adult, you must be a kid. So ignore those people that say kids can’t do anything and go out there and do something! This book was seriously good, and I couldn’t put it down. I’m going to go see if my library has the rest of the series because it was so good.

In Laura's Books,a pig likes to ask a girl for food. The girl is also caring for the pig and she is also friendly to the pig. I think the pig is generic,funny,cute and playful. The girl is lovely and cares for all animals.But the pig all was takes a long bath . You should read this book because it is an amazing book.I love this book because it is a funny book.This book is my favorite book .

These series are AWESOME! It's not JUST 5 STARS, it's like 100 stars. Keeper Of The Lost Cities has a mix of Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. Both WONDERFUL and FANTASTIC series!👍

I recommend this book to everyone in all grades.It is full of suspense and mysteries. Connwear (conn),is a young thief in the city of Welmet. When he attempts to steal from a wizard and is nearly killed, he has something special about him that gets him caught up into a whole other world of not just thievery,...but magic. As he meets other wizards, students and CREATURES he comes up against a problem....someone is stealing the magic. Is this a human being,does it speak, is this THING alive. Read this book to find out.

How can you use three words in one sentence to express your idea? A no talking competition between fifth grade boys and girls in Laketon Elementary School will last two days. The captains of the teams are Lynsey and Dave. Some of the teachers support the competition, but others don't. The principle decided to stop this competition, ....... How will the students stop the grown ups? Which group is gonna to win this competition? The interesting part of the story is how the students try to use less words to communicate with others. They get the inspiration from Gandhi, who used no weapons or violence to push the whole British army out of India. He was the one thought no talk could bring orders to one's mind. Maybe I should try to speak less and listen more.

After an year in the king`s palace, Miri Larendaughter has been sent to Lesser Alva to teach three sisters, Susanna (Sus for short), Felissea, and Astrid, those three girls were lost royal sisters. Even though Miri wanted to go back to her beloved home in Mount Eskel, but the king has sent Miri away to do it... And in order to keep good relationship with Stora, trying to avoid an war. During Miri`s teaching, she wrote the letters to her sister, Marda and her husband-to-be, Peder Doterson which never received. And that caused Peder to travel the long distance from Mount Eskel to Lesser Alva to see if Miri is really safe... And that`s part of the plot but if you guys want, you can check this book out! This book is so GOOD that I literally just lost in this book haha! But I would def recommend this book, and I also rate this 5 stars!

Ruthie is just a young girl living in New York City, trying to achieve the American dream until those dreams are put on the line after a car accident that leaves her very injured. The story follows Ruthie's journey to recovery, forgiveness, hope, and love. I loved this book so so much for not only the thought provoking bits and life lessons, but for the melting pots of cultures that were conveyed. Because this is largely based off of the author's own experience, it has a personal touch that couldn't have been added otherwise. First of all, the life lessons and thought provoking bits. I loved Ruthie and I think anyone could sympathize with her hopefulness and kindness. I also loved how her recovery process was used in such a way that Ruthie had to grow up fast and learned so many life lessons like forgiveness, following your dreams, etc. The one complaint I would have is that I felt that sometimes, because Ruthie was bedridden, the story dragged a little. I also loved the other main component I took away from the book, which is that America is a melting pot. One of her friends was Indian, another was fluent in French and English and was from Belgium, their apartment neighbor was from Mexico, and Ruthie's extended family (all Cuban) were featured heavily. I also loved how whenever these cultures were brought up, they were always very warm and celebrated their culture (her parents dancing, their culture of food, her friend's mother making pastries, etc.) and I felt like I learned something about each of the cultures. Ultimately, this book showed one girl's story of recovery while learning about forgiveness and hope, and was able to celebrate cultures from all over the world without making the book all about culture/religion. The book shows that you should always follow your dreams because in America, it's a melting pot- anyone can achieve anything.
