Kids Books - Friendship

Jealousy is not a foreign feeling to Katie Brown. Her former best friend Callie deserted her, her crush George is sought out by other girls, and her current best friend Mia is undoubtedly popular with every other girl in the grade. But she feels like the feeling will never escape her, especially when she brings her maybe-someday-stepsister Emily to a Cupcake Club meeting. Suddenly, all her fellow Cupcakers are fawning over Emily's talents, neatness, everything, and envy tears Katie apart. She knows she should be happy for Emily, but can't she have just one thing she alone is good at, even if it's just baking and making recipes? It doesn't help that Mrs. Brown seems to constantly compare Katie's disorganization to Emily's put-togetherness. Sibling rivalry is never sweet, but Coco Simon's writing definitely is, and this is a magnificent book for people of all ages and backgrounds.

This is another Newbery Medal book in my collection. Sometimes, it's really confusing, but not because of varied vocabulary. Anyone who reads this book might learn a new fortune-telling trick!

This is my favorite book in the Cupcake Diaries series ever written by Coco Simon! In this bittersweet novel, Katie Brown's father reaches out to her after years of distance and offers an internship at his famous restaurant, Chez Donald. While Katie knows it's a great opportunity, she can't help feeling that awkwardness may ruin this job. It is a once-in-a-lifetime offer, though, so she accepts and tries it out. She begins to start warming up to the job when suddenly, she cuts her finger and needs stitches in the Chez Donald kitchen! Much to her chagrin, it's her mom's boyfriend Jeff who brings her to the hospital, not her actual dad, who mutters an excuse about "lunch hour" and "busy." Katie is extremely grateful to Jeff but feels infinitely hurt that her dad prioritized his business over her, his own daughter. So, it really comes as no surprise that Katie feels overwhelmed and insecure when she meets her dad's three new "perfect blonde" daughters. On top of it all, Jeff has decided to propose to her mom! Can Katie deal with all the changes in her life, or will these sudden disruptions push her over the edge?

I've read all the books in the Lemonade Series and LOVE all of them! I like the Lemonade War a little more, but I think that the new book in the series, The Magic Trap, is REALLY good. I liked it because in the other four books you only hear and hardly see the Treski's dad but in this book he is there almost the whole time, and it is interesting how different Jessie and Evan are around him. In this book, Evan is practicing magic tricks. Their mom needs to go on a trip, and their dad stays with them. He suggests Evan throw a magic show. All is well, and Jessie and Evan are just warming up to their dad when disaster strikes and some unexpected things happen bringing the magic show to their last priority and family first. It seems predictable in the middle, but you'll never guess what happens in the end. I hope everyone will enjoy this book as much as I did!

Right after Liz and the critter club makes tons of plans for the summer , Liz's mom tells her she has to go to summer school to work on her math grades . Art first Liz was really mad because she had to miss out on an art class but she starts to get used to it .. You'll have to read the rest to find out what happens! I recommend this book to younger kids and I rate this book 3/5 stars because even know it's pretty young , it's not a bad book. Thank you for this review! - Pizzagirl7 💋

Marion has been so busy . Running back and forth to critter club. and the horse stables to prepare for a competition . One day when she was running to the car when her mom was picking her up from the stables ... Her foot goes in a hole and she badly twisted her ankle . The book has a very "Harry Potter" feel to it. A boy with a special ability is sent to a magical school. When my friend first introduced this series to me, it didn't look very exciting. But remember, don't judge a book by it's cover! I was hooked by the end of the first few chapters and read up to Charlie Bone and the Red King. Overall, THIS IS A GREAT BOOK!!

Do you like doing homework? Well, this book takes care of that problem. It is about a group of kids (called the D-squad) that use a homework machine to get their work done. The name of the kid that invented the machine is a boy named Brenton, who is quite unusual. Brenton is a super intelligent kid and is a computer genius! The D-squad name the machine "Belch" because if anyone found out, the Homework Machine would get them in a LOT of trouble. They swore to not tell anybody any information about the machine. Eventually, the truth came out. I would rate this book 5 stars because of the suspense and personalities of the characters. One of the unique features in this book is that the story is written in point of view so you know how each character feels. In the third book of the Emily Windsnap series, she finds a diamond ring on the ocean seabed that happens to also be Neptune's magical wedding ring. When Neptune finds out that Emily had the ring he cursed her and said that when the moon is full, she would be either a mermaid and live with her father or would be a human and live with her mother.

This my favorite book.Once I read this book I couldn't stop reading,I felt like I was Emily Windsnap. Finally Emily Windsnap (she is a half person and half mermaid) is at Allpoints Island hanging out with her BFF Shona and her friend Aaron(half person and mermaid too). They have many adventure's and find out the siren's secret and have a beautiful ending.I hope you love this book and it's amazing.
