Momotaro Xander and the Lost Island of Monsters

Momotaro Xander and the Lost Island of Monsters

By Margaret Dilloway

Xander Miyamoto usually spends his time drawing comics while his sixth grade teacher lectures about world problems, and creating computer programs at home. He likes nothing better than when the dismissal bell rings, and get away from bullies like Lovey who won't leave him alone for being half Asian. At the start of Spring Break, Xander and his best friend Peyton are playing computer games when Xander's father interrupts and gives them a comic book about a samurai warrior. But then when there's an earthquake, and a giant flood, the kids find out the comic is real. Xander and his family are part of an ancient line dedicated to protecting the world. And when Xander's dad disappears in the flood, Xander's grandmother tells them of his legacy. So Xander and Peyton, along with Inu, Xander's dog, must set off on the adventure of a lifetime in order to save his father, and the rest of the world from unimaginable monsters and destruction. And Xander must do this while trying to figure out what his powers are, and if he really belongs in this adventure. I really liked in this book that a lot of Japanese culture is part of the story, and you learn a lot. I recommend this book to adventure book lovers. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

This book is very over the top. John Flanagan has done it again with the third book in the Royal Ranger series. It's thriller and suspense is top-notch and I loved it.

The Fairy-Tale Matchmaker

The Fairy-Tale Matchmaker

By E. D. Baker

I read this book because I've read a LOT of books by E.D. Baker, and I have never once been disappointed. It was very enthralling, and I had a hard time putting it down. A good story about a fairy who wants to do something to help other fairies, besides collecting human children's teeth.

Room on the Broom

Room on the Broom

By Julia Donaldson

Shahrizoda

The book room on the broom is by Julia Donaldson. It is fantasy and about a witch with ginger hair and a bow. It is also about a cat,a dog ,a frog, and a bird . This is a great rhyming book. The thing I like about the book is that the witch is not an ordinary witch, she is marvelous, delightful, and joyful! All three animals ask to be on the witches broom. The cat Keeps saying NO! Will the witch agree with the cat or let the three friends on? Read this book to find out!!
