Violet was chosen to play in the orchestra with her violin in the production of the play Romeo and Juliet in London! The Thea Sisters started to notice strange things occuring during the rehearsals. I didn't like this book that much because the girl didn't feel like she was 9. The feelings were portrayed well and the descriptions were good but the pace was so bumpy which I did not like. I would recommend this for ages 9+

Julia Alvarez, the author of Before we were Free takes readers back in time to the 60s in Dominican Republic. The setting is in the Dominican Republic in 1960. Some of the main characters are Anita, Carla, Mami, Papi and Tio Toni. Some of the plot is the SIM invades Anita’s house. Julia’s writing style is in first person. I don’t like it because it was hard to follow who was who. She makes it confusing on whether Chucha is a human or a pet. It also does not feel like you are in Dominican Republic in the 1960’s. I was long and had to many spanish words. If you like action adventure or fantasy than this book is not for you. If you like books about social issues than this book is for you. Before we were free was given the Pura Belpre Award. Julia grew up in the Dominican Republic.

This book was from the ocean's point of view. I liked it. The pictures were really pretty. I love Moana, both the movie and the books.

This was a pretty good book. It talked about a lot of different machines. I really liked the garbage truck the best. It had good pictures.

This book was easy to read. I really liked the pictures. It was a good story that kept me entertained. I would read it again.

Princess Pigsty will have you surprised. She is so independent and not your typical princess. I really liked the king too. It has a good ending.
