The book I choose for my book review was; Don't Die, My Love. I selected this book because my two favorite genre of books is romance and horror. Also, the title of the book sounded convincing. Don't Die, My Love was about a young couple; Julie Ellis and Luke Muldenhower. Luke was a talented football player and wherever Luke went, Julie intends to follow. When Luke finds out he has really swollen glands and side effects to follow; Julie suggest him to see a doctor. When he attends to see a doctor the results are alarming, He didn't have the flu but, Hodgskin's Lymphoma, a form of cancer. But, Julie believes that their love is stronger than anything. My favorite part of the whole book is, 'Everybody's rushing around, Julie. They never stop and look around. They never see the new green color of the trees. Have you ever noticed how bright that shade of green is? And the flowers... flowers always seem to know when it's time to start growing.' This is my favorite passage because when I read that it made me think a lot about people rushing around and not seeing the world around them. An exciting part in the book was that when I found out that Luke had Hodgskin's Lymphoma, I didn't know that was going to happen! My connections to the book is that I have a family member dying of cancer and I know how it is. If you just want to read some day and if you like, romantic stories, like me. I highly recommend that you read, Don't Die, My Love.
